We enjoyed hot and humid summer nights on the main drag in Chatham and had ice cream at Buffy's. We loved the people watching and just taking in the relaxing atmosphere that Hyannis and the surrounding areas offer.
My favorite day was the day we took a ferry over to Nantucket. The boat below was actually one we saw on our Harbor Cruise in Boston and was used many moons ago as a way to guide ships there.
When we left the Hyannis dock, we had some spectacular views of the famous Kennedy Compound. Below, you can see the late Senator Kennedy's residence and to the left slightly behind it is Robert F. Kennedy's.
This is a photo of a spectacular residence called the McCarthy residence that I just had to take a photo of. The flag is gigantic!
THEN, we were super excited to spot Ted Kennedy's Jr.'s incredible sailboat, the Mya, out on the water. Of course, I was trying to see if Taylor Swift was on the boat, because she was in Hyannis at the same time Andrew and I were -- I don't see her though.
About 90 minutes later, we landed ashore Nantucket - just as breathtaking as you would imagine!
We rented a moped and zoomed around the island and headed into enclaves not meant for tourist types like us. I must say the island is a bit snooty-petutie, but we had fun!
And here are a couple of photos that we took of ourselves with the ocean in the backdrop:
On our last day, we drove up to the National Seashore which was very touristy, very cheesy, and quite the scene. We didn't stay long, but it was nice to see anyway.
Another amazing trip we'll never forget!
