Each time Andrew and I head back East, I always like to see new places that I've never been. This trip, I got to see several new places: Niagara Falls, Woodstock, Boston, and Cape Cod! Boston surprised me by being a kind city with nice people, unique history, and lots to see!
When we arrived in Boston our first night, we had dinner with my dear friend Maggie and her fiance Dawidson! Maggie and I went to high school together and share the same birthday. We are looking forward to her wedding in October in Vegas and I am so happy for her and her new job at Harvard U!
The next day, we were very excited to see Fenway Park and see the Red Sox play Detroit. Mid-afternoon we took the "T" over to Fenway for a tour!
I was most struck by these old wooden seats that have been in the park since 1934 ... they are tiny and rustic. Very neat.
We had a great time touring this amazing baseball park!
Then, we headed back to Fenway that night for some awesome seats where we saw the Sox lose to Detroit. But, it was still an incredible baseball experience.
Right before the game began:
Here we are - rootin' on the Red Sox:
Batter's up!
A heckler that made her way onto the field and was promptly handcuffed and escorted away:
While we were in Boston we used a two-day trolley pass to get around and see some of the terrific sights of Boston - one of which is the Cheers Bar.
And, the Old State House with lots of Boston Tea Party history. We are looking forward to coming back to Boston to have have a more historical experience and to be able to see all of the historical monuments!
We took a Boston Harbor tour....
We saw the old Boston Navy Yard from the boat where the USS Constitution is housed. The Bunker Hill Monument is in the background.
And, the US Coast Guard is also located in the harbor as well:
Boston was an incredible trip and great place to visit. I am looking forward to coming back!
