We had a great Christmas this year and it is especially fun with Scarlett becoming more aware of the holiday and this year, she was able to see, recognize, and say "Santa!" These are a few of the things we did over the holiday and the fun day we had Christmas morning!
Here is a picture from her childcare that she goes to on Friday's. Miss Theresa is wonderful there - and took this cute picture of her!
At my work holiday party this year, they had fun caricature artists and we had this drawing done of us that we both think is pretty spot on :)
Scarlett and her nanny Susan worked on holiday crafts - and this was a favorite. It's a toddler friendly gingerbread house with stickers!
We attempted to do the Nutcracker with Scarlett. She didn't last but 45 minutes, but it still is holding as a fun family tradition! Scarlett wore one of my childhood dresses - a fabric with nutcrackers made by Scarlett's great-grandma Burrell (my grandma). I loved how she looked in it!
Here we are a the Nutcracker:
We also went to the Woodland Zoo Zoolights festival which was a lot of fun, but very cold.
Scarlett especially enjoyed the carousel!
Every year, we love seeing the trains at the Armory at Seattle Center. This year, Scarlett wore her conductor overalls and got to control the train with the condoctor in the station. It was a great experience and is always so much fun! She loves the choo-choo trains!
My mom and Andrew came up from Las Vegas to celebrate and we spent an evening at Christmas Beach in Stanwood, Washington. We spent the night, enjoyed all of the festivities, and it really was a spectacular light event!
We got our annual Junior League Santa photo at Nordstroms. Scarlett was scared of Santa, so we immediately got her out of there ... but, we'll try again next year. Luckily, her adorable Christmas outfit from last year still fit - thanks to Grandma Peg's handiwork!
Here she is getting ready to see Santa!
Christmas morning was a lot of fun with Scarlett this year, although we weren't able to put as many decorations on the tree because she loves to get into things!
Scarlett loves her new kitchen!
And, she loves her baby cradle given to her by Grandma & Grandpa Doran which is the same baby cradle that was in her Daddy's nursery school!
On Christmas morning we lit a fire in the fireplace and I made "Santa pancakes" ... next year I'll work on the chocolate sauce mouth ... that got a little runny :)
