Last year, we spent Thanksgiving in Maui and had an amazing time. This year, we gave in to an offer we received to go and stay at the Westin in Kauai and do Thanksgiving in Hawaii all over again. So, off we went to enjoy some relaxation. I'd describe Kauai as much more laid back, less touristy, and a more naturally "authentic" Hawaiian experience. We enjoyed the Westin, although didn't have an ocean view like we did in Maui (which I missed). The pools overlook the ocean and overall it was a beautiful resort. I don't have a ton of pictures because I think we truly went into a relaxation "mode." We enjoyed a round of golf at the prestigious but incredibly difficult Princeville golf course. It was an extremely frustrating course, so it wasn't the best experience. But, nonetheless there were gorgeous views and it was an experience all its own.
And we're off...
A little golf outing on the Princeville course.
This little rooster (one of many annoying little birds on Kauai) followed me around on a couple of holes...
Several days were spent beach-side:
Lots of natural beauty to be photographed:
We ate dinner at Hukilau Lanai for Thanksgiving where I had the most delicious natural honey based lemonade!
After our Thanksgiving dinner, we took a stroll along the beach.
A rainbow sighting on our last day exemplified the true beauty of this island.
Our final night included a patio view of the ocean at the luxurious St. Regis. A fabulous ending to a wonderful Hawaiian birthday celebration for Andrew and I.
