G-Phi-B Sparkle

Gamma Phi Beta. So close to my heart. My sophomore year of college I pledged Gamma Phi Beta. I really wanted to pledge my freshman year, but I had some issues that year - anxiety + homesickness = a little bit of borderline depression = not so hot grades = ineligibility to go through rush. It was awful. But, I had a wonderful RA that year who really looked after me and happened to be a Gamma Phi Beta and she really encouraged me to hang in there, strive to be my best and then, I could go through rush the following year. And, that I did!

So, my sophomore year, I went through recruitment with an open-mind, even though I was a legacy Gamma Phi Beta: My mom was a G-Phi and my grandma was G-Phi. No pressure though. So, when I went through rush was when I fell in love with the big green house, but also had a slight affinity for the Alpha Phi house too because it was just gorgeous inside. At the end of the day though, GPhi picked me - and I picked her.

I am SUPER sentimental when it comes to my sorority 1. because of the family legacy 2. because when I became President of my chapter I learned what true leadership is and 3. because you never stop being a member 4. I never would have met my husband had I not been a GPhi.

I am grateful for #3 because it is really wonderful to move to a new city and immediately have something to be a part of and feel like you belong.

I am extra grateful for #4 because after college I joined the Las Vegas Valley Alum Group where I met my sweet, precious, lifelong friend Kristin who set me up with Andrew.

Here's a snapshot of the GPhi's from our annual kick-off event in downtown Seattle last night --> it was FUN to meet new people and see good friends!!

Love me some G-Phi-B!

Side note: Because I absolutely LOVE and adore my little sis, I also advocate for Alpha Phi (because she's one of those) :)
