I feel so grateful and lucky to have the mother that I do. She is so very special to me and I'm grateful for the relationship that we have that goes beyond mother-daughter to friends. This Mother's Day, Andrew had to be out of town (to Germany) on business. When my Mom realized that I'd be home by myself this Mother's Day, she and my brother decided to hop on a plane and come visit Scarlett and I.
We decided to make a trip out of it since they would be flying into Bellingham. We booked a hotel in Vancouver to stay at - my mom and brother's first Canadian trip! So, that Friday after work, Scarlett and I drove up North, picked up my brother and Mom and we headed to dinner in Bellingham to a cute pizza and wine joint that had just opened. From there, we drove into Vancouver and stayed on Rosen street in the Stadium district - a great location. We had a lovely weekend enjoying Vancouver and even spent an afternoon in Whistler where we had lunch, shopped, and enjoyed some Moo ice cream. On the way back from Whistler down the Sea to Sky Highway we came upon a deadlocked situation where all cars were at a standstill and everyone was out of their cars trying to figure it all out. Turns out it was due to an accident, but we just enjoyed the weather and the comraderie on the freeway.
This was a great weekend getaway with my mom and brother Drew and I am so glad they got to spend time with Scarlett too. So grateful for family and that we were able to spend this precious time together.
It was a wonderful first Mother's day, spending it with my own mom, Scarlett, and brother! So grateful for them!
