Scarlett's First Christmas

The Christmas Season was a whirlwind of activities and travel back East to see Andrew's family.

In mid-December we went up to the Tulalip tribe and made fresh centerpiece as part of their "hope and healing" event in rememberance of the Tulalip school shootings.

We also took Scarlett on a Santa run with the Coke team.

After the run (brisk walk for us with Scarlett), we enjoyed breakfast at Pikes Place Market.

Our sweet 5 month old in her gorgeous red velvet Christmas dress made by her "Grandma Peg" (who is my sister's mother-in-law). She is an amazing seamstress and we are so grateful for her many talents.

Scarlett got to meet Santa for the first time! She was a happy camper!

Our annual outing to see the Nutcracker:

Another outing to Snowflake Lane:

Our 'lil Bear at the Teddy Bear suite at the Fairmont. We decided to keep her and bring her home with us!

We also enjoyed checking out the Gingerbread Houses at the Sheraton. They are created by engineering firms in Seattle and are pretty spectacular.

Our favorite was of the Seattle skyline:

We also enjoyed seeing the Christmas trains at Seattle Center. Scarlett was enamored with them!

On Christmas day we headed out on a 6 hour plane ride back East so that we could visit the Doran's and Scarlett could meet her cute cousins. We enjoyed spending time with family and Andrew even took Scarlett to see the Atlantic Ocean:

Midway through our trip, we drove from Delaware to Woodstock, New York to check out Levon Helm's barn. While we were there, the hotel we stayed at had a swimming pool and Scarlett got to go swimming! It's one of her favorite activities!

Sometimes, we really are very ambitious. Andrew loves the Midnight Ramble at the Barn and we took Scarlett with us to a live concert. It was really fun and they were very accomodating.

After our journey to Woodstock, we headed to New York City and stayed in the financial district.

Our main purpose for going to NYC was to see the World Trade Center Museum. While we were there, we saw the memorial for a guy that Andrew knew from church growing up. It really was a moving tribute.

After a full day at the museum, we opted for room service and ice cream in bed.

While back at Grandma & Grandpa Doran's house, we got to try on some fun clothes that were Scarlett's cousins. A favorite is the bonnet that was handmade by Andrew's Grandma, Scarlett's Great-Grandma! It is a treasure.

Scarlett enjoyed meeting her cousin's - here's a pic of she and her cousin, Stevie who is almost exactly a year older than she is. I can't even imagine her being that big! Time flies!
