The moment I told him!

On October 29th I stopped by the Bartell's pharmacy on my way home from work with that inkling that I might be pregnant. Andrew was out of town on business, expected to return home later that week. I took the first pregnancy test and three minutes later the digital screen said "pregnant." My initial reaction was a small gasp and then the immediate thought of gratitude - I felt so grateful. I imagine for everyone it's a whirlwind of emotions, as it was for me. But, quickly those emotions turned to excitement. We weren't "trying" to get pregnant, but we also were of the mindset that if it happened, it happened. I was excited to tell Andrew the news - I knew he would be absolutely surprised.

I created this little "Halloween" surprise for Andrew - a box with the digital pregnancy test and a little poem. When he got home from the office on the 31st, I was just finishing up putting together the candy bucket in preparation for the neighbor kids to come by for trick-or-treating. I told him I had a little treat for him and gave him this box. He looked confused and a little nervous. He opened the box, read the message and said, "is this for real?" Then, he looked at the pregnancy test and it was blank! :) The digital test had died. So, he was very confused and I laughed, but luckily I had taken the pictures below before that I packaged it up - so I had proof.

It was a special moment for us, even though reality wouldn't set in for many more weeks.
