In early September, I had the opportunity to travel to Vienna for a work summit. Luckily, I did have a little bit of time outside of our business meetings, to tour around the city and take in this uniquely wonderful city.
One of the first things I did when I landed was take the train out to the Schonbrunn Palace. While it isn't quite Versailles, it has a beauty all it's own.
First stop: the Stadtpark station to grab the train.
After meetings, I was able to tour the downtown area and see St. Stephen's cathedral and the tourist hub. This is a beautiful city, but what I like about it is that it's very walkable, safe, and not overwhelming in any way.
One afternoon I was able to see the Hundertwasser Apartments - a quirky concept that includes natural trees growing throughout, uneven floors, and other bizarre elements.
I loved my room at the Radisson Blu ... super matchy matchy yellow floral. Probably too much for some, but perfect for me on this work trip.
St. Stephens Cathedral - definitely striking.
